Becoming a Makeup Artist...

One question I am constantly asked is, "How did you become a makeup artist?" My response is usually a combination of my passion for makeup/beauty, believing in myself, and a big inspiration of two awesome friends related to this incredible industry. I always had a knack for modeling, makeup, and beauty trends from a very young age. Once I realized that I could combine my artistry talents with business, I started in the makeup world. As I mentioned above, I have always loved everything about makeup from a very young age. Growing up with my sister who is only eleven months younger than I am, she would always let me do her makeup. She never forgets how her makeup would turn out with the "Smokey eye" and of course tons of powder to ensure flawless skin. It definitely was not a good look but a twelve years old, that's what all the girls were doing. It wasn't until I turned fifteen when I started to (kind of) figure out what actually looked decent. To this day, my sister still loves me! Some other reasons I was always attracted to the glitz and glam of makeup was because I grew up being involved with the cheerleader teams from fourth grade till high school. Also, in the meantime from high school I always had a passion for modeling and photoshoots that consisted mostly clothing and marketing. During high school and college I would do my friends makeup before we went out for a night. I was always the last one to get ready since I was always busy giving everyone else a shimmer and smokey eye. After college I began my career in the business administration field. I met so many great people and met my amazing husband! A few years later I had my first and most beautiful gift, my son. Now I am a stay at home mom while pursuing my passion for makeup. So there's my background in a few paragraphs. I am enjoying my passion and going for it. I love meeting new people and being able to make them feel even more beautiful. That really makes my job even more exciting and rewarding!
