When your aunt is a hairdresser, you get to go in on her day off and get your first Perm at five years old. And apparently get treated like a king while doing so. 😂

Most of my days at work are great, this one might have been the greatest of them all! It was so much fun watching him experience this the first time. The last picture was our inspo. That’s his dad/my older brother in about 1986 or ‘87 probably. I think we nailed it. 😍😍🤩🤩

Mr. Man and his friend have already named themselves “The Curly Boys Band”. I love it. That nephew of my has my heart. ♥️ Happy first day of school, my (not so) Little Man!

yep, the uber casual man perm is still in style. I see my guy right here about 3x a year (and sometimes only twice a year). in between those times, he has wildly little maintenance and still has a style that requires almost nothing on the daily. perms are back in a HUGE way. Life has been life-ing lately.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, so I wanted to check in.

Over the last couple of months I’ve had to make a couple trips to Georgia. Both my uncle and then my grandfather passed within a few months of each other. We spent time as a family for all of the services and then said goodbye to 2 men who were huge in my life. Then, just 2 days later, I had to say goodbye to my beloved baby, Boudin, after 14 incredible years together.

Needless to say, it’s been a season of grief. BUT it’s also been a season of gratitude. I was blessed with so many years, memories, and unconditional love from all of them, and I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything.

Because of everything going on personally, social media has taken a back seat. If you’ve messaged me and I haven’t been posting much, that’s why. I’ve still been working—just a little quieter than usual.

The good news is I’m getting back into a more normal routine, and I can’t wait to be back to sharing pics and hair tips with y’all.

I also have a couple of schedule changes!

✨ Morning clients: My first appointment is now 8:30 AM, so if you’re an early bird, I finally have some earlier openings for you.

✨ Evening appointments: If late afternoon or evenings are your preference, be sure to book ahead. I only offer a select few evenings a month. Trying to find some of that work/life balance my therapist talks about 😂

Thank you for all the grace, love, and support you’ve shown me. It means more than I can express. I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and turning more of my attention back to work (and YOU!). Thank you for understanding when I needed to change appointments last minute. Thank you for the hugs. Thank you for the appointments where you were MY shoulder to cry on. Thank you for standing by me in a tumultuous first half of the year. Let’s hope we got all the bad out in the first part of the year! I’m ready to rock and roll with you! 🩵

Baby cousin came in for some purple for her big 6th birthday and let me tell you… she understood the assignment.

(Not so) fun fact: I was in the room when her daddy was born… and now his daughter is in my chair getting streaks. So yeah, I’m officially 1,000,000 years old. 😭

This one hits extra sweet. Her dad is the baby of our cousin generation and now she’s here primping in my chair. 🫶🏼
