This morning I listened to a podcast talking about childhood trauma and the idea that “good enough” trauma may be far more universal than we realize.

Not always abuse. Not always something obvious. Sometimes it’s the subtle patterns…not feeling seen, emotionally safe, supported, heard, or enough.

And what stood out to me most was this:

Awareness changes things.

When we begin to recognize the patterns, understand where they came from, and approach them with compassion and forgiveness instead of shame, anger, resentment or guilt…we create space for freedom, healing, and growth.

What’s fascinating is how deeply the body holds onto these experiences.

Stress, trauma, emotional suppression, survival patterns, and nervous system dysregulation don’t just live in the mind — they affect the body on a cellular level.

Healing is not just emotional. Healing is physical too.

Walking…just do it!! I regularly discuss this topic with my clients. This is an incredible video (link in comments) regarding the science of walking. The only exercise your body really requires.

Lately, I’ve been on my own journey…
stepping back from the noise, the opinions, the expectations, and really listening…to my mind…to my body…to my heart.

I started questioning everything I thought I knew. The patterns, beliefs, the conditioning I didn’t even realize I was carrying.

I understood that “what if” goes both ways. Not only, “what if I fail?”…but also, “what if I don’t?” What if I don’t mess it up this time? What if I don’t shrink myself to stay comfortable? What if I don’t get in my own way?

“What if”…made me aware of my own limitations…aware of the loops I was living in, of the stories I had outgrown, of the me that’s ready.

Awareness is where I shifted, because it’s difficult to change what you don’t see. But, that’s also when you get to choose differently.

So, what if it all works out exactly the way it’s meant to?
