Great Hard Work

My statement on Douglass Park: As a lifelong North Lawndale resident, I know how important this space is to our community. That’s why I proudly allocated $4.7 million in TIF funds to the Chicago Park District for improvements to the park’s fieldhouse—including updated restrooms, modern public spaces, and building system upgrades.

Through a new agreement with Riot Fest and the Park District, up to $4.5 million in revenue will be generated over the next 3 years—with $1 million going directly back into Douglass Park through a first-ever Participatory Budgeting process.

Douglass Park is more than a park—it’s a place for joy, fitness, wellness, and community. I’m committed to ensuring it thrives for generations to come.

Great work!
