Work in progress. Here are some recent before and after photos of a client's hair. We worked on the front and top portion of the head. This root maintenance involved root rubbing, crocheting and palm rolling. (No wax, No Root Flipping) The dreads now have a thick root base consistent with the thickness of the dread and all those stray hairs are now in the appropriate dread. This really cleans up all the tangles and snags from the loose hairs. Now she can root rub and finger roll her dreads which will continue to lock in new growth and help keep the root base in form.

This brother had 2 defined dreads and a beaver tail dread that took up a large section of the back of his head. I did some basic root rubbing and root maintenance on the 2 dreads and then I cut the beaver tail in half and then cut one of those sections in half agian. I turned the beaver tail into 3 separate dreads and restructured them. Here's how it turned out.

Had the pleasure of doing some root maintenance on a friend's hair. Root rubbing is essential for regular maintenance to keep the new growth locking in otherwise the loose hairs grow long and start to tangle into other dreads which can become irritating to your hair. Pre Root Rubbing also saves a lot of time when getting maintenance. Here are the results of some dreads that were a bit grown out. They needed some Love and a good amount of root rubbing and some restructuring of the base and about 2-3" up the dread.
