Coffee scrubs take the standard sugar scrub and add a delightful extra feel and natural scent by mixing in coffee grounds. I find that not only do they tend to exfoliate slightly better than the traditional scrub the scent combination is amazing for those who love coffee. The oil blend already left the skin silky soft after use, but the addition of the coffee adds an extra boost. Coffee contains caffeine which is known for being great for skincare and I totally agree. After my kids started having reactions to the large name brand soaps and shampoos. I decided that I wanted to understand what was happening and why.

After taking some classes on Dermatology, esthetics, cosmetology, skin care and repair. I decided to start making my family’s skin care products.

Nourishment and hydration are two important things that a beard requires to grow well. Beard oil provides the required nourishment to the beard and helps soften the facial hair to make it more manageable. It also hydrates the beard and the skin beneath it.

There is nothing more I hate than kissing or hugging my husband and getting his beard which feels like brush rub against my face. It’s not so much the roughness of his beard, but the red rash or marks it that is on my face afterwards.

Soothing Menthol Eucalyptus Rub.

This is a petroleum-free chest rub. The eucalyptus, menthol, and rosemary come together in this homemade mentholated rub to offer the perfect cooling, soothing trifecta.

Have you ever looked at the ingredients list on a store bought chest rub? When you’re congested, blurry-eyed, and feeling like death warmed over, reading ingredients isn’t high on the priority list,but it’s also not comforting to find out that you just rubbed a semisolid soup of petroleum products onto your skin in order to give your respiratory passages some relief.

The classic over the counter chest rubs are often less than 10% herbal ingredients and approximately 90% petroleum in the form of petroleum jelly, which is generally combined with turpentine.

When petroleum isn’t refined properly or entirely, as is sometimes the case, it can be contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), known carcinogens, particularly when used over a period of time.

New batch of peppermint lip balm.
$1.25 a tube
So I use to love Burt’s Bees lip balm. But unfortunately it was bought out by Clorox and their formula now contains Canola oil and soybean oil. I don’t use either of these oils in my cooking and I don’t want on my lips.

This is the closest that I could get to the original formula.

Ingredients:
Coconut oil, Shea butter, beeswax, peppermint essential oil.

I also made a batch with a little bit of shimmer.
Mica was added with the ingredients.
