A week we’ll remember for a long time. 🤍

The Cynosure convention gave us endless learning, new perspectives, a whole lot of team bonding + more than a few memories we’ll never forget.

We showed up each day ready to learn. We sat in breakout sessions, asked hundreds of questions amongst our team, connected with specialists from around the world + soaked up as much information as we possibly could.

Because we really believe you get out of these conferences what you put into them.

And we came home with our eyes WIDE open to just how much the technology we have at Soundside can do. There’s something pretty exciting about learning even more about the devices we work with every day + coming back with new knowledge we can bring directly into the treatment room.

We could never fit everything we learned (or everything that happened into one post, but one thing is certain:

Teams that travel together, grow together. And we’re very grateful for this one.

There’s a LOT of pressure online to know exactly what your skin needs.

Microneedling or a peel? Facial or laser? Is your skin dull, dehydrated, sun damaged… or somehow all three? 😅

The good news? You don’t need to figure it out before you book.

That’s where Lainie comes in.

With years of experience in advanced skincare + aesthetics, Lainie can look at what’s actually happening with your skin, listen to what you want to work on + help you choose the treatment that makes sense for you.

Sometimes that’s a facial. Sometimes it’s microneedling, dermaplaning, a chemical peel or LaseMD Ultra. And sometimes the best place to start is simply having a conversation about your skin.

You bring the skin goals. Lainie will help with the plan.

Aesthetic medicine might happen in a beautiful clinic instead of a hospital, but it is still medicine. 🤍

And we’re happy to see Ontario continuing to strengthen the standards surrounding how medical aesthetic care is delivered.

These treatments come with real clinical considerations, which is why things like proper assessment, informed consent, treatment planning, documentation, Health Canada-authorized products + appropriate prescriber involvement matter.

You may notice some changes to the process as new guidance comes into effect, and if something changes at Soundside, we’ll always explain what’s changing + why.

But many of the principles being emphasized are already part of how we approach your care.

Because behind every treatment is a medical decision.

And when you trust us with your face, skin or body, you deserve care that is thoughtful, accountable + held to appropriate clinical standards.

We’re glad to see our industry continuing to move in that direction.

Better standards mean better protection for patients. And that’s something we can all get behind.

By now, you’ve probably heard us (and the rest of the internet) talking about laser season. 🍂

But there’s a reason we get excited about this time of year.

As summer wraps up and our UV exposure starts to decrease, fall gives us a great window to start working on some of the things that may have become a little more noticeable over the last few months: pigmentation, sun damage, redness, uneven texture + changes in skin quality.

And the key word here is start.

Great skin plans take time. Depending on your skin and your goals, that might mean LaseMD Ultra, Clarity II, XERF, microneedling, a peel, medical-grade skincare or a combination of treatments over time.

You don’t need to know which one to book. That’s what we’re here for. 🤍

Bring us what you’ve been noticing, and we’ll assess your skin, talk through your options + build a plan that makes sense for you.

Self-care was never supposed to be just for women.

Men care about their skin. They notice when their hair starts thinning. They want to look less tired, feel confident in their appearance and take care of themselves as they get older too.

And none of that needs to be a big deal.

Aesthetics can simply be another part of taking care of yourself, whether that means finally getting serious about your skincare, addressing hair loss, treating sun damage or exploring options for the things that have started bothering you.

At Soundside, the approach stays the same regardless of who walks through our doors: we listen first.

We’ll talk about what you’re noticing, what actually matters to you + what your options are. Sometimes there’s a treatment that makes sense. Sometimes there isn’t.

So yes, gentlemen. You’re allowed to care too. 🤍

Hair loss doesn’t always look the way you expect it to.

For some people, it starts at the hairline or crown. For others, the first sign is a widening part, more visible scalp or realizing their hair simply doesn’t feel as dense as it used to.

And because hair loss can have different patterns and contributing factors, we don’t think the answer should be to immediately reach for the latest hair growth product and hope for the best.

Understanding what you’re noticing + what may be contributing to it is an important first step.

For appropriate candidates, one option we offer at Soundside is our KeraLase Hair Restoration Program, which combines LaseMD Ultra treatment of the scalp with KeraFactorÂŽ serum as part of a treatment series designed to support the scalp and hair.

Hair changes can feel incredibly personal, and you don’t need to figure out what they mean on your own.

If you’ve started noticing a change in your hairline, part or overall density, come talk to us about what you’re seeing. We can assess your concerns and help determine what the next step should be.

There is such a thing as asking too much of your skin.

Retinol, vitamin C, exfoliating acids and niacinamide can all have a place in a great skincare routine. But using more actives, higher percentages or layering everything together doesn’t automatically mean better results.

Sometimes it means redness, flaking, stinging, sensitivity and a skin barrier that’s struggling to keep up.

And this is where things can get confusing. When your skin starts feeling rough, breaking out or looking dull, your first instinct might be to add another active to fix it.

Sometimes what your skin actually needs is less.

A good routine isn’t about collecting every ingredient TikTok tells you about. It’s knowing what you’re trying to treat, choosing products that make sense together + giving them enough time to work.

And if your bathroom cabinet is currently telling a different story… Dump Your Dupes is for you. 👀

Bring your current skincare into Soundside and let us help you simplify your routine + build one that makes sense for your skin.

A new bombshell entered the villa… and she’s been keeping us very busy. 👀

XERF has officially been at Soundside for a month now, which means we’ve had some time to really get to know the technology, treat with it + see why it earned a spot in the clinic.

A few things we’re loving so far?

The versatility. XERF allows us to deliver radiofrequency energy at different depths depending on what we’re trying to address.

The treatment experience. No needles or numbing, with controlled heating that we can adjust throughout your treatment.

The long game. XERF works by heating deeper tissue to stimulate collagen, so the goal is progressive improvement in firmness + laxity over time.

And maybe our favourite part? It gives us another option when building a treatment plan around your skin, your goals + how you want to age.

One month in and XERF is settling into Soundside quite nicely. 🤍

Curious whether it belongs in your skin plan? Come see us and let’s talk about it.

Sometimes the best way to refresh the under-eyes is to not treat the under-eyes at all. 👀

The face is connected, and changes through the midface can influence how the under-eye area looks. When support through the cheeks and midface starts to change, the transition into the under-eye can appear more hollow, shadowed or tired.

By strategically restoring support through the midface, we can sometimes soften that transition and create the appearance of a smoother, more refreshed under-eye, without treating the under-eye directly.

This is why we don’t look at one feature in isolation. We look at your facial structure, proportions, movement and where support has changed before deciding where treatment will have the most impact.

Because sometimes the area bothering you isn’t actually the area we need to treat. 🤍

We spend a lot of time protecting and treating our faces… meanwhile, our hands have been out here collecting sun exposure right alongside them. 😂☀️

Over time, that can show up as brown spots, uneven pigmentation, rougher texture and an overall change in skin quality on the backs of the hands.

And yes, we can treat there too.

LaseMD Ultra isn’t just for the face. Its fractional laser technology creates controlled treatment zones in the skin, supporting the skin’s natural renewal process while helping us address visible sun damage, pigmentation and texture.

Hands are actually one of those areas people often forget about until they start noticing the contrast between the skin on their face and the skin on their hands. 👀

So if you’ve been investing in your face but your hands are starting to tell a slightly different story, bring them up at your next consultation. 🤍

We can talk about whether LaseMD Ultra makes sense for your skin and build them into your treatment plan too.
