Approaching 40 has changed the way I think about “healthy.

” It’s
no longer about eating less, chasing 10,000 steps, or simply
trying to look skinny.

It’s about building a body that feels strong, nourished, energetic,
and supported for the years ahead.

Over the past few months, I’ve stopped doing the things I once
thought were healthy like skipping proper meals, having fruit-only
dinners, treating protein as something to think about at night,
relying only on walking for fitness, compromising on sleep, and
taking supplements just because they were marketed for women
over 35.

Instead, I’m focusing on the basics that actually support long-term
health:

• Eating enough to support energy and muscle
• Including protein throughout the day
• Strength training and progressive resistance
• Regular movement without obsessing over step counts
• Prioritising 7–8 hours of sleep
• Choosing supplements based on individual needs, not trends
• Supporting nutrition and recovery as life changes
And there’s an important mindset shift here:

your goal doesn’t
have to be becoming smaller.
As you approach 40, building and maintaining muscle, getting
adequate nutrition, sleeping well, and staying active can become
much more meaningful than simply watching the number on the
scale.

Being healthy can look like being strong enough to lift, energetic
enough to enjoy your day, well-nourished enough to recover, and
confident in your body.

So if you’re approaching 40, ask yourself: Are you preparing your
body for the next decade or still following rules that were never
designed for you?

Comment “40” and I’ll send you a 7-Day Sample Meal Plan for
Women Approaching 40 focused on protein, healthy fats and
practical nutrition.

Over 35 and wondering why the workout that worked for someone else isn’t working for you?

Your workout doesn’t need to be harder. It needs to be more personalized to your body, lifestyle, fitness level, age, and goals.

That’s where bio-individual fitness comes in. Just like nutrition isn’t one-size-fits-all, exercise isn’t either.

HIT may work well for one woman, while another may benefit more from strength training, walking, mobility work, or a combination of different forms of movement.

For women over 35, strength training can be an important part of a well-rounded fitness routine. It can help support muscle strength and make everyday movement easier. But strength training shouldn’t be the only thing you do.

A balanced weekly routine can include:
• Strength training for muscle and strength
• Walking or cardio for cardiovascular health
• Mobility work for movement and flexibility
• Recovery days to allow your body to rest and adapt
The goal isn’t to copy someone else’s workout routine.

It’s to understand what your body needs and build a routine you can actually maintain.

If you’re a woman over 35 and confused about which workout is right for you, comment “WORKOUT” and I’ll share a simple guide to help you get started.

Follow for practical tips on women’s health, fitness, and sustainable weight loss after 35.

What looks like a “perfect diet” is often just a collection of simple, balanced choices made consistently. 🥗

From morning hydration and soaked nuts to protein-rich breakfast, seasonal fruit, a satisfying lunch, and a nourishing dinner, the goal isn’t to eat less, it’s to give your body enough of what it actually needs.

A balanced day of eating can include:
• Protein at your meals to support muscle and recovery
• Healthy fats from nuts and seeds
• Fruits and vegetables for fibre and micronutrients
• Carbohydrates like rice and other grains for energy
• Enough fluids throughout the day
• Enjoyable foods that make your routine sustainable
And one important reminder: you don’t need to copy someone else’s exact meals to eat healthy.

Your portions, food choices, activity level, goals, preferences, and individual needs all matter.

Even foods like rice, fruit, peanut butter or coffee can fit into a healthy diet. What matters more is your overall eating pattern, not one individual food.

So instead of asking, “What should I stop eating?” try asking, “How can I make my meals more balanced?”
