Thank you to the DBL Summit team for the invitation, the wonderful hospitality and an inspiring evening.
It was a pleasure to be part of such a well organized event, surrounded by great people, conversations and energy.
Thank you for the excellent collaboration and, above all, for a truly enjoyable time together. I look forward to many more opportunities to meet, exchange ideas and work together.
At the , I had the opportunity to share something more personal. I spoke not only about my professional journey, but also about the philosophy that has guided me throughout my life.
Discover yourself. Recognize your potential. Have the courage to dream, but also the discipline to turn those dreams into goals.
I have always believed that we do not simply find the life we want. We create it. And sometimes, the most important thing is to keep climbing without ever believing we have reached the top.

When a small bone loses its blood supply, precision can bring it back to life.
One of the most demanding procedures in hand microsurgery is the transfer of a vascularized bone graft from the knee to the wrist, used to treat complex scaphoid and lunate bone pathology.
The graft, approximately 1–1.5 cm in size, is harvested to reconstruct the affected scaphoid or lunate bone and carries its own blood supply. Under the operating microscope, vessels measuring only around 0.5 mm are precisely connected to restore circulation and support the survival of the transplanted bone.
I had the opportunity to perform this highly specialized procedure together with Dr. Heinz Buerger, a world-renowned expert in hand microsurgery, who has performed nearly 1,800 procedures using this technique.
These technically demanding operations require extensive experience, microsurgical precision, and close teamwork.
We are now planning a long-term collaboration to bring this highly specialized surgical technique to more patients with complex wrist conditions.

Breast reconstruction is an important part of recovery after a breast cancer diagnosis.
For more than 30 years, I have been dedicated to breast reconstruction surgery, helping women restore not only their physical appearance but also their confidence, sense of wholeness, and quality of life after breast cancer treatment.
In my interview with Politika, I discuss modern breast reconstruction techniques, the timing of reconstruction, and the importance of choosing an individualized approach for every patient.

Reconstruction of the lower face following extensive childhood burns remains one of the most demanding challenges in plastic surgery.
In this case, the patient had undergone more than sixty operations over the years, yet significant functional and esthetic deficits persisted. Using preexpanded flaps, we reconstructed the lower lip with particular attention to oral competence, symmetry, and mobility. Lower lip reconstruction is not merely structural. It requires restoration of sphincter function, tissue quality, and facial harmony.
In burn reconstruction, the objective is not only to rebuild anatomy, but to restore function and confidence.
In reconstructive and esthetic surgery, not every goal can or should be achieved in a single operation.
When the desired outcome is complex, the surgical strategy must respect tissue biology, healing capacity, and long-term stability. Patients who have a clear vision of their final result are often willing to undergo two or three carefully planned procedures. The number of stages is secondary. What matters is safety, balance, and the durability of the outcome.
Surgery is not about immediacy. It is about precision, timing, and achieving a result that will endure.
